Clarington needs to be a place people drive to, not drive through!

We have some exciting news to share with you!

Starting next week our intern, Meaghan, is going to be featuring a new blog series for Clarington Tourism coinciding with the on-going initiative, Sustainable Clarington.

Here’s some information about Meaghan, for those of you who don’t already know her:

Currently, she is a second year student at Durham College, studying public relations. In order to obtain her diploma she sought out a placement here at the Municipality, and we are thrilled to have her on board.

When she isn’t spending her time with us, you can find her riding horses all across Ontario. A dedicated equestrian for over 15 years, Meaghan has a long list of accomplishments, most recent being the overall Champion in her division on the Ontario University Equestrian Association’s (OUEA) circuit. Don’t let her ribbons and medals fool you though, she has the bumps, bruises and stories to prove she stays humble and true to those around her — even the horses!
Find her on:
Twitter, Instagram and Pintrest: @newdulz

Here’s a bit about the upcoming series, in Meaghan’s own words:

I want to bring awareness to both the community and visitors by featuring Bowmanville, Newcastle, Courtice and Orono’s food, shopping and entertainment locations in hopes of drawing more traffic and sustainability to Clarington itself.

First stop, Bowmanville’s original Fuel Shed to chat with Mark about healthy eating with a cherry on top, stay tuned!
