Spirit Walks with Clarington Museums
Wednesday and Thursday evenings in October, 7:00pm to 9:00pm
They’re back! Join Clarington Museum on an interpreted walk through Historic Downtown Bowmanville during the month of October.
Join in this annual Spirit Walk and experience a ghostly walking tour as you learn about local accounts of apparition encounters.

Join us in Clarington Saturday October 4, 2014 for the Newcastle Harvest Festival!
Located at the junction of the 401 and 115 highways in historic Newcastle Ontario.

A great family day out, rain or shine, bring the family have some good old fashioned fun. The streets close down and open to the public with arts and crafts, food truck alley, petting Zoo and animal show, live entertainment, and Octoberfest lunch at the Newcastle Community Hall. Check out locally grown harvest produce, and visit the vendors and local businesses and organizations set up along King Avenue. Festivities begin at 9 am with kid’s crafts and a pancake breakfast, and the Lions Club Walk for Dog Guides. Take a stroll downtown to the antique tractor and classic car show, or enter one of the many contests. Hope to see you there!

Apple Festival and Craft Sale

This tremendously popular annual street festival celebrates all things apple.  Four city blocks become a showcase for our many local apple growers who proudly offer up a wide variety of fresh picked apples and other goodies.   You’ll also find fresh-pressed apple cider, homemade apple pies and crisps, candy and carmel apples, cider donuts, and so much more.  Be sure to make a stop for our famous fresh hot apple fritters.

Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority’s Hallowe’en Howl

Get into the Hallowe’en spirit during this spooky night in the Ganaraska Forest. Carve pumpkins, enjoy an interactive and fun campfire, and then go on a guided night hike through the forest.

Into the Woods: Etchings by George Raab
Visual Arts Centre of Clarington
Exhibition Running Current until October 12

Organized and circulated by the Art Gallery of Peterborough, this major exhibition celebrates the etchings of Millbrook, Ontario artist, George Raab. “George Raab’s practice spans four decades and is grounded in portraying the wooded world. From his early etchings to his present day intaglio prints, the artist’s work portrays the iconic forest.” (Carla Garnet, exhibition curator)
Raab’s work is held in more than 100 public, private and corporate collections. He has exhibited across Canada and internationally, and is a past winner of the Grand Prize for Prints from the American Biennial of Graphic Art.

2014 Clarington Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
Saturday October 25th

On Saturday, October 25, 2014 the Municipality of Clarington will welcome the 2014 inductees into the Clarington Sports Hall of Fame. The 12th annual Hall of Fame ceremony will feature guest speaker Henry “Gizmo” Williams, a member of the Canadian Football League (CFL) Hall of Fame.
The Clarington Sports Hall of Fame recognizes the teams, individuals and volunteers (builders) who have dedicated themselves to the sports community in Clarington.

A limited number of tickets are available for this marquee event. Tickets are available at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex (2440 Highway 2, Bowmanville). $55 per person; $40 for alumni includes dinner, cash bar. For additional information or to purchase tickets call 905-623-5728
